We care about your safety at Friendly Chat Rooms. This is why our chat client has several features for your security. One important feature is the ability to block private messages. Nobody on FC can simply bomb you with PM's like on other sites - you have to physically click "accept". You may automatically reject all incoming private messages via preferences by clicking the blue flame button at the bottom left hand of the chat client.

If somebody is disrupting the chat room and there aren't any staff available simply left click on their username and click "ignore". You will no longer be able to see their text. If somebody is being persistently disruptive though, you, as a community, have the right to kick them. If enough people left click on their name and click "kick to vote" they will be automatically kicked out of the room by the system via democratic mandate - because this is your community.

We are currently looking for both quiz masters (/mistresses) and visitor support team members.

We believe in simplicity. So we've chosen a chat client that is simple, easy to use - but also fun! Simply login using your Friendly Chat username & password and click login. You will automatically enter our "Welcome Lobby". This is our main lobby where our most dedicated and friendly regular chatters are, as well as a visitor support staff member. If you require help at any time please don't be afraid to ask one of our regular chatters or one of our chat staff who will be more than happy to help!

How to PM
Left click on someone's name and click "request private message". The person you have PM'd must accept the request. If you have been denied, please don't try again - it means they do not wish to PM with you.

How to get an avatar
Click on the blue flame icon (bottom left) and click on "preferences". From there you may choose from one of our default avatars or upload your own. Dimensions must be 40x40. If your avatar dimension is too large, simply click here, upload the avatar, click "custom size" and type in "40". Save your resized avatar and repeat the first instructions.

How to auto-reject all PMs
If you're not interested in the 1-2-1 chat feature, all you need to do is click on the blue flame icon and put a tick (/check) into "reject all incoming PM requests".
